Blackwater – What’s a Few Bullets Between Friends?

There is some serious over-reaction to the Blackwater shootings in Iraq.
It’s not like they’ve killed EVERYBODY….although there’s still plenty of time.
Blackwater President Erik Prince testified before the House Oversight Committee today, defending his company’s trigger-happy mercenary cowboys. ….errr….I mean….Private Security Forces…(please don’t shoot me)
The problem with the media today is that they focus on the negative.
Sure! We hear lots of reports about the civillians killed by Blackwater operatives in Iraq…but NOTHING about all of the people they didn’t kill. There’s still millions of targets….errr….people…..breathing…I mean….living in the war torn country and many of them will NOT be killed by Blackwater employees.
What about them?
Who is talking about all of the good Blackwater is doing?
Is the glass half empty or is it lying in the dirt with a bullet between it’s eyes?
No wait…those are both negative……
Is the glass half full of shrapnel or is it totally immune from criminal prosecution
because of a directive signed by Paul Bremer before he left the country?
And so what if they did kill a few innocent people? Erik Prince is right….
Blackwater isn’t responsible for the behaviour of it’s employees.
They can’t flog them or prosecute them….That’s the government’s job…..(Abu Ghraib?)
It’s like any other American company (that operates outside of the law)….
Let’s say you worked for Blockbuster and one evening, while delivering outstanding customer service you leaped over the counter and dragged a customer by the hair into the Foreign Film section, where you proceeded to beat him about the head with a copy of Blade Runner and violated him with licorice Twizzlers.
No big deal right?….
OK, so then you sit on his chest and stuff a 5 lb bag of gummy bears up his nose one by one…..
Do you expect Blockbuster to intervene?
They have better things to do….
Large groups of people don’t need rules and limits governing their behaviour….history has proven that time and time again.
Now luckily, you are finally wrenched from your murderous haze when you remember that Blockbuster doesn’t actually rent VHS tapes anymore…..whew! That was a close one….tapes! HA! That’s funny……
wait a minute….
Who’s the sh*thead that put Blade Runner in the Foreign Film Section? I hate it when people do that…..
It’s a good thing I’m not quick to act out in fear or anger…
I’ve got Twizzlers and I’m not afraid to use them…..someone could really get hurt around here….
Now we wouldn’t expect Blockbuster to call the police or co-operate with the investigation….would we?
That’s a job for law enforcement, not Blockbuster.
Blockbuster should just dock your pay for the gummy bears, take you off the schedule and be done with it.
Consequences are for babies, poor people and unarmed civilians.
Do we want Blackwater putting their murderers in the ‘Naughty Corner’ for a time out?
They’ve been officially excused from detention. They got a note from Mom that says they get to kill with impunity.
What don’t we get about that?
So Blackwater kills some of the wrong people from time to time…..
Sometimes Blade Runner gets filed with the Foreign Films accidentally.
Get over it…sh*t happens……We always focus on the bad…..shame on us.
